Dear friends and colleagues,
As Co-Chairs of the Scientific Committee for this prestigious Conference, we wish to offer you a warm Scottish welcome to Glasgow, the venue for the 2018 International Conference on Stillbirth, SIDS and Baby Survival. Members of the International Society for the Study and Prevention of Perinatal and Infant Death (ISPID), the International Stillbirth Alliance (ISA) and the Scottish Cot Death Trust (SCDT) will join other delegates from around the world to further our knowledge through research initiatives and families’ experiences to improve outcomes for our future generations.
Scotland has a long standing history of innovations in many aspects of perinatal and infant health. The multidisciplinary nature of this Conference will provide something for everyone who is involved in the provision of care for our families. A key aspect of the Conference will be to listen and learn from the parents and relatives who have experienced the tragedy of losing a baby, taking forward common goals for improved future healthcare provision, promoting global research in this field and encouraging every professional attending to seek innovative ways to improve their service.
Glasgow is Scotland’s largest city and has been reborn over the last 20-30 years following prestigious awards such as the European city of culture in 1988 and hosting of the Commonwealth Games in 2014. This city is well known for its friendly and welcoming citizens whom we are certain will help to deliver a memorable Conference in 2018.
